John combined his passion for wooden boat restoration with 20 years experience working with
some of the worlds best engineering driven manufacturing companies.  He started with a classic
shape and sample from his father’s era then lead specialists who applied precision engineering
techniques such 3D CAD, material science and CNC milling. The result is a blend of the best of
both worlds -  Blacksheep Boat Work boats provide a classic look, secure platform, durability,
and high performance by uniquely combining a range of materials, processes, and
craftsmanship.  The beauty, quality, and usefulness are beyond current industry offerings.

We are located in Manchester, Michigan but our customers are anywhere a love of fishing and
fine boats exist. Each boat is hand crafted in a practiced efficient process to tight standards for
durability, function and appearance.  We take great satisfaction in owning our own business,
working with wood, and delighting our customers.
